Guevara was born in Malaga, Spain in 1956. Jose Guevara studied drawing and painting at The Escuela de Artes Officios of Malaga and at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes of San Jorge, in Madrid. Gold medal winner of ELSEU in Madrid 1984; second prize winner of the Ministry of Culture and Education in 1989 and 1990; first prize at Dodas de Plata INP in 1994, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions around the world.
